Adolescent counseling provides specialized support for teenagers navigating the unique emotional, social, and developmental challenges of adolescence. The teenage years can be overwhelming, and having a trusted therapist to talk to can make all the difference in a young person's mental health and well-being.
Using developmentally appropriate approaches, I work with teens to address issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, peer relationships, academic stress, family conflicts, identity exploration, and behavioral concerns. Therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space where teens can express themselves freely and develop healthy coping skills.
I understand that adolescence is a time of significant change and self-discovery. My approach respects teens' growing independence while collaborating with parents/guardians when appropriate to ensure comprehensive support. Building trust and rapport with teen clients is my top priority.
Sessions are conducted via secure telehealth for teens in Georgia, Florida, and Idaho, which many adolescents find more comfortable and accessible than traditional in-person therapy.

The first session typically includes the teen and parent/guardian together to discuss goals and concerns, followed by individual time with the teen. Confidentiality is explained clearly, with appropriate boundaries discussed regarding what will and won't be shared with parents. Ongoing sessions focus on building trust, exploring the teen's experiences and feelings, and developing practical skills for managing challenges. Therapy is tailored to each teen's unique needs and may incorporate creative approaches, skill-building exercises, and age-appropriate therapeutic techniques. Parent check-ins occur periodically to discuss progress and provide guidance on supporting your teen at home, while respecting the teen's privacy and therapeutic relationship.
